I'm Emily Brummer, an Australian-German living in Regensburg, Bavaria — and the copywriter & brand strategist behind Kookaburra Copy.

As a native English speaker, I work with my clients to create and refine a distinct brand voice for international communication in English. In a time when AI is making every brand sound the same, my goal is to build an unmistakable verbal identity, so that your customers can recognise your tone without even having to see your logo. Giving your brand a personality that people love to engage with.

For German clients with existing German copy, I don't simply translate: I create the perfect English copy to reflect the underlying core brand identity.

In practice, that means I create names, slogans, write and direct image films, and guide you through any other communicative concept your brand might need.

Born and raised in Perth, Australia, I completed my MSc in Marketing Management at ESADE Business School in Barcelona in 2013. After the Masters, I spent time working in European startups before specialising in naming and brand communication as part of the core team at Munich brand studio BECC Agency — where I spent nine years honing my craft across a roster of leading global brands.

Now based in Regensburg, I work on a freelance basis to support agencies, startups and German companies of all sizes in reaching a global audience with a sharp and distinct brand voice.
